OUR VISION
With increasing human-wildlife conflict, we recognise the immediate need to better understand ecosystems and species, and put in place sustainable practices that ensure their protection and management into the future.
OUR MISSION To provide world-class wildlife management consultancy, research, training, and field services that are:
ABOUT US At Croc & Co Intl., we're at the cutting edge of what we do. We recognised the need for a specialist wildlife research, training and management consultancy service. Based in Cairns, Queensland Australia, we are lucky to have some of the world's most iconic species right on our doorstep. We’re not aligned to any specific academic institution, but instead partner with stakeholders from research institutions, landholders, Traditional Owners, organisations, and individuals; undertaking field based work that informs adaptive management and provides current research. |
Director Croc & Co Intl. - Simon Booth
Simon started his career in wildlife conservation and management during his time in a remote Aboriginal community on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands of central Australia. Here, he co-ordinated Black-footed Rock Wallaby (Petrogale lateralis) re-introduction and research projects, including weed, vertebrate pest, and fire management with a team of local Indigenous rangers.
Simon holds a Master of Environmental Management through Charles Darwin University, and has worked across Far North Queensland undertaking wildlife monitoring and management. Simon specialises in management and research of Australia's Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) and has completed research focused on improving the methods of crocodile capture and management, including behavioural modification, drone capture, sonar detection, genetics, and population modelling. In 2022, Simon was invited to join the International Union for the Conservation of Nature Species Survival Commission - Crocodile Specialist Group and is currently on the organising committee for the 2024 Crocodile Specialist Group Meeting in Darwin. Living in Australia's Far North has enabled Simon to work with some of the most iconic and vulnerable species such as the Southern Cassowary (Casuarius casuarius) and the Spectacled Flying-fox (Pteropus conspicillatus). In addition to wildlife management and research, Simon has extensive experience developing and implementing vertebrate pest management programs based on latest research and local data to ensure best results. He specialises in the removal of feral cats, pigs, camel, foxes, and donkeys. Establishing Croc & Co Intl. in 2023, Simon looks forward to taking an international focus to crocodile management and research, and assisting clients with their wildlife and pest management needs. |
